Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress, best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After the divorce of her parents, she left Worthington in Ohio and moved in Los Angeles. Even though she had financial difficulties and in the beginning, she made her acting debut in the role of Rachel's Room's principal character. Her portrayal of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace appeared as Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal role for two seasons, and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the show in order to concentrate on her film career. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) in Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. The role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost including the series finale. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 until the year 2014. She plays Faith as a groupie, and also a muse to the stars who captures the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career in the teen years with minor parts in a few of the films of her father and starred with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 an erotic romantic drama) and Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) of which garnered their Golden Globe Award nods. In the wake of several successful commercial films such as World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). The film was nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part in Crazy Heart, (2009). Then she was in comedies and dramas, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 She also was a Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action thriller from 2013, a musician in Frank (2014) as well as the lead role on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama that was released in the year of 2018. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021. she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in the Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by The Academy Award. Academy Award.
